Places in the Part II Written Exam are now limited

As the number of candidates applying for the written examination has been rising over the past number of years, this has greatly impacted on candidates applying for the OSCE/Clinical component - leading to a waiting list to get a place on the exam.

As a result of this, we have to limit the number of places available for the written exam from now on.

In response to growing demand we have increased the annual number of spaces available in the OSCE/Clinical exam with new centres in Cork, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Galway.

As numbers will be limited, it was agreed that the most equitable way to allocate places is to prioritise doctors on our Basic Specialist Training Programme/CPSP Training Programme, followed by candidates with only one attempt left and candidates who have been rejected in the past. The remaining places will be allocated in order of the date and time of each candidate’s online application.
