Rachel manages a number of Quality Improvement projects and initiatives in RCPI. She is also the Founder and Managing Director of the Paediatric Acute Intervention Resuscitation Skills (PAIRS) Group.
Orla joined the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in November 2018 as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Orla previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry in the areas of pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs and developing training content (clinical trials). She completed her PhD and BA (Mod. Neuroscience) in Trinity College Dublin
Janet joined the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in November 2021 as Research Department Manager. Janet previously worked in the Medical Council, where she managed the research function, conducting research that focused on medical professional regulatory affairs, including patient safety, medical education training quality and workforce intelligence. She completed her MSc in Trinity College Dublin.
Nyasha joined the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in April 2021 as Research Coordinator for Research Collaborative in Quality and Patient Safety (RCQPS), a collaborative initiative between the Health Research Board, the Health Service Executive National Quality Improvement Team and the Royal College of Physician of Ireland. Dr Terry McWade is CEO of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Dr McWade, who qualified as a medical doctor at Trinity College Dublin, has led a number of technology and medical education innovations including the world’s first online surgical training programme - a collaborative venture between the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Harvard Medical School and Intuition. He has previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry at Servier Laboratories, as Managing Director of Servier Denmark, and at its Paris headquarters. He led the healthcare consulting practice of the Boston Consulting Group in London and is former CEO of Exceptis Technologies, where he led the sale of this business to Trintech Group in 2000. Prior to establishing Valitacell, Terry was Deputy CEO of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2004-2013). He is the former Chairman of the European Vaccine Initiative, Deputy Chairman of the Dublin Dental Hospital and serves on a number of committees of the Irish Medical Council. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and has a MSc in Healthcare Ethics and Law.
Sheila Gallagher is the Chief Financial Officer of RCPI. She joined the College in January 2019 and is responsible for the strategic financial management and growth of RCPI. Sheila graduated from DCU with a degree in business in 1998 and trained as a Chartered Accountant with British Land Investments. She spent a number of years as Finance Director in RTE before taking up the position as CFO in RCPI.
Colm has overall responsibility for our Training and Education departments. He joined the College in November 2019. Colm graduated from UCD with a B. Comm in 1992 and in 1993 with a Masters in Business from the UCD Smurfit School of Business. He spent a number of years in UCD in various senior managerial roles before joining the RCPI. The most recent of these being Head of UCD Smurfit’s student recruitment and admissions.
Dr Ann O’Shaughnessy is Head of Education at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and is responsible for research and the development and delivery of continuing education programmes for doctors and other health professionals.
John Magner has overall responsibility for our international medical graduate training programmes.
Michael joined RCPI in 2017 to oversee IT operations and infrastructure, project delivery and support, as well as telecommunications for the College. He is tasked with taking the RCPI’s technology and information systems to the next level through the digital strategy programme.
