Become a Fellow of the Faculty

You can promote and develop the specialty of Occupational Medicine in Ireland by:

  • Acting in an advisory capacity to Government and statutory bodies
  • Acting as a vital source of information for media, the general public and other medical professionals
  • Developing and delivering postgraduate training programmes
  • Setting the standards in the Licentiateship and Membership of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine examinations
  • Developing and delivering Professional Competence Schemes.

Are you ready to become a Fellow?

(Note: RCPI is in the process of transitioning to the qualification of FRCPI (FOM) under its Fellowship Equity Project.)

To become a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FFOM) you must:

  • Hold the MFOM for 4+ years along with Specialist Registration or Equivalent

                        or

  • Hold Fellowship of another recognised OM Faculty along with Specialist  Registration or Equivalent
  • And have distinguished yourself in the practice of Occupational Medicine and contributed to the Faculty as determined by the Credentials Committee and Board of the Faculty

Once we're satisfied that you are eligible to apply for Fellowship, we will send you the necessary forms to complete.

If you have achieved Membership of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (MFOM), or hold equivalent Memberships recognised by the Faculty and College, you can become a Member of the Faculty.

  • Be nominated by two Fellows of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in good standing

Become a Licentiate of the Faculty

If you have achieved Licentiateship of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (LFOM), you can become a Licentiate of the Faculty.
