Be part of Culture Night on 21 September!

Would you like to be part of Culture Night 2018?

We’re looking for volunteers to help out for an hour, or whatever time you can spare, in our historic home at No.6 Kildare Street on Culture Night, Friday 21 September 2018.

Culture Night is one of the most popular annual events on Ireland’s cultural calendar. It’s a night of entertainment, discovery and adventure across the country, as arts organisations and cultural and historic houses open their doors until late, with thousands of free events for all to enjoy.

Every year we open the doors of our beautiful historic home to the public for one night. It’s our busiest public event of the year – Over 3,000 people came into our building on Culture Night 2017! Culture Night’s success hinges on the work of generous volunteers, who help guide the public through our cavernous building and provide information to the curious about our many portraits, statues and artefacts (using cheat-sheets!).

We're looking for volunteers!

This year we are inviting RCPI Trainees, Members and Fellows to join us and lend a hand for an hour, or whatever time you can spare, on Culture Night.

It’s a great opportunity to showcase the fabulous home of Medicine in Ireland to the public, and we think people will enjoy hearing about the history of the College and medicine in Ireland from real doctors.

What’s involved?

All volunteers will be given a name badge and cheat-sheet containing answers to frequently asked questions about RCPI.

You can choose to come along for any length of time between 5pm and 10pm on Friday 21 September.

You will be asked to look after a specific room or area within No.6 Kildare Street.

Be in right the heart of the Trinity and South Georgian Quarter

Sign up and you will have the perfect excuse to come into the capital on Culture Night and see some of the other amazing events taking place that evening.

We are in the Trinity And South Georgian Quarter, so you will be close to Dublin City Library & Archive, Dublin Unitarian Church, Freemasons’ Hall, Geological Museum (TCD), Irish Traditional Music Archive, Science Gallery Dublin and many, many more events.
