New ePortfolio for Professional Competence is here!

You can start recording Professional Competence activities in your new ePortfolio

We are pleased to announce that your new ePortfolio for Professional Competence is now ready to use. You will be able to record CPD and Audit/Quality Improvement activities in real time on your mobile phone, even if you are offline (not connected to the internet).

Things to know before you get started

All data entered since 2013/14 has been transferred from the old ePortfolio, and you will see these records in the new ePortfolio
You will be asked to trust the device the first time you log in. Only select "Trust device" if it is your own personal device, i.e. mobile or laptop

Getting started – what you need to do

Log in to www.rcpi.ie and click on the button entitled New ePortfolio
If you are using your own personal device select ‘Trust device’
Review your Dashboard and check all details
Use the Create button to start recording

I am delighted to launch the new ePortfolio for Professional Competence. The new system has been rolled out to over 4,000 doctors enrolled on our Professional Competence Schemes. This launch comes after many months of hard work and consultation with doctors on Professional Competence Schemes. I would like to acknowledge the important contribution made by the doctors who gave their time and expertise to help us design a system that genuinely meets the needs of busy doctors. The RCPI Digital Strategy Advisory Group also played a critical role in the delivery of this project and I would like to sincerely thank Dr Diarmuid O’Shea, Dr Emer Kelly, Dr Michael O’Connell, Dr Brona Moloney and Dr Siobhán McGettigan for their contribution.

A special note on recording attendance at RCPI courses and events

We are launching a new course booking website at the start of July 2019. All courses and events booked through our new website will be automatically uploaded to your ePortfolio with the correct CPD credits. This will be done within two weeks of attendance.

This means that from July, you will no longer need to upload a certificate to your ePortfolio as proof of attendance. Further details on this will be circulated in due course.

We are working towards automatic recording of all RCPI activities, not just attendance at courses/events, and we will keep you updated on progress in this area.
